Orlando, Fla. – The Webber International University men's tennis team fell to the #23 ranked NAIA team in the nation, Davenport University (MI), 5-4. The Warriors put themselves in a deep hole by going down 3-0 after doubles play. But, the Warriors came out fighting in the singles competition, winning 4 of the 6 matches. Unfortunately, Webber needed to win 5 of the singles matches. The final score was 5-4 Davenport.
Webber singles winners were : #1-Niklas Kammer, 7-5, 6-1; #2-
Jonathan Cohen, 5-7, 6-2, 11-9; #3 Mislar Colak, 6-2, 6-1; and #5-Justus Klocke, 6-3, 6-0. Webbers record is now 3-2 for the season with both losses coming to nationally ranked teams.
The Warriors return to action on Sunday when they play Coastal Georgia College in Brunswick, Ga.
