Kissimmee, Fla. – The Webber International University men's tennis team traveled to Star Island Resort to play NCAA-I, Mount St. Mary's (MD). The Warriors left town with a 5-2 win, pushing their record to 3-1 for the season.
The match started with the doubles and WIU found themselves down 1-0 after losing 2 of the 3 matches. Under NCAA-I rules, the doubles only count as one point. The Webber duo of,
Jonathan Cohen and Mislav Colack, did win at #1, 8-1, but Webber lost the other two matches.
However, the Warriors did dominate in singles play, winning 5 of the 6 matches. Winners for WIU were: #1 – Nicklas Kammer, 6-1, 6-0; #2 –
Jonathan Cohen, 6-3, 6-3;
Mislav Colak, 6-0, 7-6; Rodrigo Santabanez, 6-2, 6-4; and Justus Klocke, 7-6, 6-0.
The Warriors are back in action today, playing #24 ranked Davenport University (MI) at Lake Cane in Orlando.
