NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – An outstanding offensive outpouring lead the Warriors to their seventh straight victory over the Apprentice School Builders by a score of 31-6.
The start of the first half proved to set the tone for the Warriors and the rest of the game.
Billy Pavlock, the quarterback for Webber, broke loose for a 24 yard run and a touchdown to give the Warriors a 7-0 lead, following a
Daniel LeZotte extra point. In the second quarter it was a 8 yard pass from Pavlock to
Corey Jackson for a touchdown that gave the Warriors a 14-0 lead after the Lezotte extra point. LeZotte would strike again this time with a 24 yard field goal that soared through the uprights to give Webber a 17-0 lead going into halftime.
The start of the second half showed the Warriors continuing their momentum as Pavlock again found the end zone with a 37 yard rush and a LeZotte extra point found the Warriors with a 24-0 lead. The Builders were able to string together a 6 play 86 yard drive that was capped off with a rush for a touchdown by the running back, Brandon Jordan, for 8 yards. After a missed extra point attempt by the Builders, the Webber lead was cut to 24-6. The Warriors quickly found an answer in the running back, Joseph Geck, who pounded it into the end zone for a 3 yard rush and a touchdown. LeZotte nailed the extra point and that sealed the deal for Webber International giving them the 31-6 victory and their seventh straight win.
Pavlock, finished the game with an astounding 14-17 completions for 214 yards and a touchdown, also with 18 rushes for 97 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Keith Hopkins, the wide receiver for the Warriors, finished the game with 5 receptions for 129 yards.
Charlie Leonhardt, the punter for the Warriors, had a season best 64 yard punt, that lead to his 45 yard average for the day on 3 total punts. For the Warriors defense,
Marquise Harts added 2.5 sacks to his season total giving him 10.5 sacks on the season and maintaining his lead in the Sun Conference.
Webber International University will take on the University of the Faith on November 15
th, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., at Legion Field in Lake Wales, Fla. This will also be the Warriors senior day and the last home game of the year. Come out and support the Warriors as the finish the season and honor the seniors. Go Warriors!!!!
