Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 Babson Park, Fla.    The Lady Warriors volleyball team finished this past weekend 2-2 and has found themselves with a new lineup the coaching staff is very excited about. After a really discouraging conference loss to NAIA #14 Embry Riddle, Coach Brian Goodhind decided changes needed to be made.

The tough loss continued into Saturday afternoon's conference matchup versus Southeastern, as our Lady Warriors dropped set 1 15-25. "I decided more changes needed to be made and we completely changed things from what we have been training with and me and the staff were very excited with the results we have found since the change" coach Goodhind stated about the lineup change. The Warriors swept the next three sets 25-22, 25-21, 25-14. "This was a must win type of match in our opinion if we wanted to stay in the hunt for finishing in the top two of The Sun Conference," Goodhind replied. Shauna Brown and Taylor Eiken led the team with 16 kills each. When asked why he thought the change made such a difference Coach Goodhind had this to say; "The biggest difference this change has made was fixing our number one issue, ball control. The girls passed so much better which let our setter, senior Katie Lindstrom, run the offense much more efficiently. We have, in my opinion, the best setter in our conference and we have not been able to utilize her due to our poor ball control. With bad ball control comes poor defense and ball handling errors and we had probably been in the bottom three in those categories. After the change look at our defense; Jessica Costanzo, senior #9, comes in game 2 and takes over as libero and has 19 digs in sweeping the Fire in three games after set 1 loss. Hayley Bennett, senior #27, switches to the DS position and chips in with 14 digs. Shauna Brown, senior #24, switches from middle blocker and has 16 kills and team high 19 digs. Taylor Eiken, junior #11, was witched to OH1 from OH2 and adds 16 kills of her own and 16 digs. The team had 80 digs for the match. This change was huge for us and I am excited to see it grow and hoping it leads to us making the conference tournament and doing some damage while we are there!" The conference win put your Lady Warriors at 2-2 in TSC.

The team had back to back matches on Saturday; after the conference win against the Southeastern University Fire, the Lady Warriors had to turn right around and play Haskell University from Kansas City. The Lady Warriors continued to prove that the change was not just a one time thing as they were able to pull off another victory in four sets (25-15, 25-21, 23-25, 25-19). Leading the way for the Warriors was Katie Lindstrom who had a double-double with 48 assists and 12 digs. Lindstrom totaled 85 assists over the course of the tri-match. Taylor Eiken led the Lady Warriors with 18 kills. Stepping up big again from her new position at Right Side was Shauna Brown with 16 kills. Jessica Costanzo stepped up as well picking up 20 digs to lead the way defensively, with Hayley Bennett chipping in 17 digs of her own.

On Sunday, the Lady Warriors traveled to St. Leo University to matchup with a very solid NCAA D2 University. "I was very excited to get a call from Sam Cibrone, St. Leo's Head Coach, asking us if we could fill in a match for their schedule. The goal for us was to give our team the opportunity to play against the best competition possible so they are battled tested come conference tournament time. This match got us exactly that. The girls fought hard and showed the coaching staff that the changes that were made are working very well and we saw a lot of positive things," Coach Goodhind had to say following the match. The Lady Warriors dropped the match in 3 (23-25, 21-25, 16-25) but the Warriors fought hard and are ready for their final stretch of 6 very important conference matches upcoming over the next few weeks. Following the hard fought match, Goodhind was asked about the team, "Keep an eye on that schedule and come join us in the Warrior fight to try and get to the National Championships!".

Anitaka Knight and Katie Lindstrom made the All-Tourney team at the SCF tournament and we tied for second in the tourney. I am bringing this up to you because it marks the first time we have had someone make the first team all tournament team for all 3 tournaments we played in. Katie made the first team All Tournament team at the Mariner Invitational held at Coastal, GA, she also made the All Tournament team at the Faulkner tournament, and made the all tournament team at the SCF tournament. Anitaka made the second team all tourney team at Mariner Invitational (Taylor Eiken made 1st team all tourney team at that tourney), and Anitaka made the all tourney team at the SCF tourney as well. We are sitting at 14-9 overall right now and 2-2 in TSC. We have huge match versus Warner on Wednesday night here at Webber. Whoever wins the match will be in a tie with St. Thomas for second in TSC.
