LAKELAND, Fla. – The WIU men's tennis team opened play in The Sun Conference with a 9-0 win over Southeastern University in Lakeland. The Warriors evened their overall record to 2-2.
 
Winners in singles for Webber were; #1 Valentine Bayh, 5-7, 6-0, 6-1; #2 Jonathan Cohen, 6-2, 6-2; #3 Alwin Leysner, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3; #4 Nickolay Kodinor, 6-1, 6-2; #5 Hugo Cedeno; 6-0, 6-2; #6 Omar Quesada, 6-0, 6-0.
 
Winners in doubles for the Warriors were; #1 Bayh & Cohen, 8-2; #2 Cedeno & Kodinor, 9-8(6); #3 Firmiano Filho & Santiago Martinez, 8-0.
 
Up next for Webber International is another conference match on Saturday. WIU will be hosting St. Thomas University on the WIU Campus Courts, in Babson Park, at 10:00 a.m. Admission is free to all Webber tennis matches.
