Panthers Out Last Warriors in Season Finale, 17-3

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors football team traveled to Melbourne, Florida, to take on the Florida Institute of Technology Panthers in their season finale. The Panthers would hold off the second half charge from the Warriors winning the game 17-3.
 
The Warriors would recover the kickoff in the beginning of the game giving them great field position in Panther territory. The Warriors would be unable to move the ball and miss the first field goal attempt. The Panthers and Warriors would be deadlocked in the first and second quarter of the game. The Panthers would be the first to put points on the board ending the defensive battle with 9:46 left in the second quarter they would make a 26 yard field goal gaining the lead, 3-0.
 
After half time the two teams would again be deadlocked in a defensive battle until 3:05 left in the third when the Panthers would score the first touchdown on a 24 yard pass extending their lead to 10-0. The Warriors would respond with a Anthony Woythaler 46 yard field goal bringing the Warriors within one touchdown, 10-3. The Panthers would put the nail in the coffin when they scored the second touchdown of the game on an 8 yard run extending their lead and winning the game 17-3. The Warriors would drive down to the Panther 5 yard line and get pushed back. They would turn the ball over on downs with less than two minuets remaining in the game.
 
The Warriors finish their season 5-5 overall.
