Lady Warriors Upset by Lady Royals at Home in Five

Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Lady Warriors volleyball team faced off against Crooked Lake Rivals  and conference foe, Warner University Lady Royals, in the Sabbagh Athletic Center on Wednesday, October 09. The Lady Royals would upset the Lady Warriors after a hard fought five set match with the final score of 3-2, (25-20, 22-25, 22-25, 25-18, 17-15).
 
The Lady Royals would win the first set with a score of 25-20 over the Lady Warriors. The Lady Warriors would then rally and win the next two sets 25-22 over the Lady Royals. After the short break in between games the Lady Royals would out score the Lady Warriors 25-18 in the fourth set tying the match two sets each. In the fifth and final set the Lady Royals and Lady Warriors would battle back and fourth to 12 all. The Lady Warriors would then score the next two points giving them the lead and momentum until the Lady Royals called timeout, 14-12. The Lady Royals would come back from the timeout and tie the match 14 all. The Lady Warriors would then score their last point of the match and watch the Lady Royals score three straight points to win the match.
 
Leading the Lady Warriors on the court were: Katie Lindstrom who had 54 assists, 5 Kills off of 11 attempts, and 8 digs; Michelle Einzinger had 8 kill off of 17 attempts with 2 errors, 3 solo blocks and 2 assisted blocks.
 
The Lady Warriors record falls to 11-9 overall and 2-3 in The Sun Conference. The Lady Royals record improves to 11-6 overall and 3-2 in The Sun Conference.
 
The Lady Warriors will return to action on October 15th as they travel to Lake Wales to play St. Francis University (Pa.) with the match starting at 4:00 p.m.
