BABSON PARK, Fla. - The Warriors where back at home looking for redemption after losing their last two games on the road. This time the Warriors were facing Ave Maria who is currently at the bottom of the conference. Once again the game started with a shaky start when the Warriors defense failed to clear the ball in 6 yard box that left Devon Provost with a free shot but was denied from
Brandon Stout! The Warriors finally found the net when
Callum Donnelly played a great executed throw ball to
Fabian Egger who managed to chip the goalkeeper outside the 18 yard box for his eleventh goal of the season. It only took four minutes for the Warriors to find the back of the net again when Callum switched the field to find left midfielder
Vicente Munoz who beat the Ave Maria's right back to slip the ball past the goalkeeper on the far post for his third goal of the season. Coach Cockburn decided to change the formation and a few changes to the line up to fire up the striking force and it started to pay off in the 5
6th minute when Stephen McGinn made a darting run into the center of midfield to find Craig Hughes opened on the top of the 18 yard box who managed to curl the ball past the keeper for his second goal of the season. Stephen would end of finding a goal for himself when a cross from Thomas Egger, Stephen managed to side volley a shot directly to go the Ave Maria's goalkeeper Anders Martin but Stephen followed the shot and put it in the back of the net for his second goal of the season. Coach Cockburn then put on freshman Johnny Osorio with 20 minutes to go, and it only took him 5 minutes to score his first goal of the season when a through ball from Fabian Egger, Johnny found himself on a 1v1 with the goalkeeper and with ice cold nerves calmly placed the ball in to the back of the net. The Warriors finished the game with 32 shots to Ave Maria's 6 shots. " Overall I am happy with the performance, however we have tendency to rush and not keep possession, I am happy for Brandon Stout getting his 6th clean sheet of the season and we hopefully he will have more at the end of the season" according to Coach Cockburn. This put the Warriors in third place currently their record is now 8-3 and 5-3 in the conference, their next game will be against Southeastern University on Saturday at 4:30pm.
