Warriors Baseball Honors Seniors, Take Victory From Eckerd

Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. – Warriors Baseball honored their eight senior; Travis Noland, Taylor Mathis, Shane McIntyre, Carlo Galluccio, Jesse Wigginton, Nick Pascente, Hunter Ovens, and Chaz Abeln for their dedication to the team as Webber took down Eckerd College 1-0 in the eleventh inning.

The game was scoreless and went into extra innings, but the Warriors came up victorious and took the game as Shane McIntyre singled to right field and brought Travis Noland home for the only run of the game.

Travis Noland led the Warriors with 2 hits, and a run and Shane McIntyre had 2 hits and an RBI. Chaz Abeln started the game and pitched in 5 innings faced 21 batters, allowed 5 hits, no runs, and had two players strikeout. Steven Arvanitis finished the game where he pitched in 4 innings, faced 15 batters, allowed a hit, no runs, and had 3 players strikeout.

Capra led Eckerd College with 2 hits. Tritons had 8 different pitchers pitch in the Warriors last regular season game, but the Warriors found a way to take the game from a NCAA-II opponent.

Webber International University finished the regular season with a 25-23 overall record and a 14-12 The Sun Conference. Eckerd College fell to 15-25 in the season.

2012 The Sun Conference Baseball Tournament will be from May 1-5, 2012 in City of Palms Park – Ft. Myers, Fla. and Webber as of April 26-2012 are seeded fifth in the conference and will play on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 2 pm as they play #2 seeded USCB.
