BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International men's tennis team pulled off an exciting 5-4 victory over SCAD – Savannah on a match played at the WIU Campus Courts on Saturday in Babson Park. With the win, the Warriors clinched a third place finish in The Sun Conference Tournament as the Number 3 seeded team. Webber's overall record improves to 14-5.
 
The Warriors lead 2-1 following doubles play. The #1 team of Carl Ackered and Valentin Bayh pulled out a heart stopping win at 9-8. The #3 team of Marcel Schmitt and Alwin Leysner won 8-1.
 
Singles wins for Webber were: #3 Carl Ackered, 7-6, 6-1; #5 Marcel Schmitt, 6-0, 6-1; #6 Alwin Leyner won by default/injury.
 
The Warriors will be playing at home on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. when they play Embry-Riddle.
