Warriors Split Double-Header With Fire

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University returned to action on Saturday at 12 noon where they hosted conference opponent Southeastern University in a double-header. The Warriors split the double-header with the Fire. The Warriors record improves to 16-13 overall and 6-5 in The Sun Conference.
 
Game One
 
The Warriors sent Steven Arvanitis to the mound looking for his third win of the season. Arcanitis would only give up two runs to the fire and the first was in the 6th inning and the second was in the 8th. Jesse Wigginton would come in the game for Arvanitis in the 9th inning and finish off the Fire earning a save in the process.
 
The Warriors would score 4 runs on the Fire. The first run was scored in the 2nd inning when Jonathan Williamson singled to left center field which scored Billy Farrell. The Warriors would score two runs in the 4th inning the first coming from Ryan Regidor's single up the middle which scored Hunter Ovens and the second run was scored from Jonathan Williamson single to right field which drove in Carlo Galluccio. The Warriors would score their final run in the bottom of the 8th inning on a single through the right side by Ryan Regidor which drove in Shane McIntyre.
 
The Warriors won game one with a score of 4-2.

Game Two
 
The Warriors sent Armani Gonzalez to the mound looking for his fourth win of the season. Gonzalez would have a short day because of Southeastern University's hot bats in the game. The Warriors would go through seven pitchers in the game trying to stop the Fire's bats. The Fire would collectively score 14 runs on the Warriors.
 
The Warriors would score 3 runs on the Fire in the game. The first runs for the Warriors came in the 2nd inning when Taylor Mathis hit a single which drove in Jonathan Williamson and Ryan Regidor. The Warriors would not score again until the bottom of the 8th inning when Shae Cothran hit a single which scored Hunter Ovens.
The Warriors would fall to the Fire with a score of 14-3.

The Warriors return to action on Monday, March 19th, when they host Taylor University in a double-header starting at 4:00 p.m. at the Heart of Florida Field located on the Campus of Webber International University.
