LAKELAND, Fla. – The Webber International University men's tennis team snapped back after their loss to Cumberland University on Wednesday. The Warriors traveled to Lakeland to meet NAIA opponent Judson University (IL) at the Beerman Tennis Complex. WIU prevailed 8-1 and improved their record to 9-3 for the 2012 season.
Playing the singles first, the Warriors clinched the win by winning all six singles matches. Winning for WIU were: #1

Valentin Bayh, 6-2, 6-2; #3
Marcel Schmitt, 6-0, 6-0; #4
Alwin Leysner, 6-0, 6-1; #5
Tyler Heath, 6-0, 6-0; #6
Joonas Jalkanen, 6-0, 6-0.
The only point the Warriors dropped was at #1 doubles. At number 2 doubles
Marcel Schmitt and
Alwin Leysner won8-5 and at #3 doubles
Tyler Heath and
Joonas Jalkanen garnered an 8-2 victory.
The Warriors return to Lakeland on Monday to play University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, an NCAA-I opponent. Match time is 11:30 a.m. at the Beerman Tennis Center.
