Warriors struggle offensively but still win game 2

Box Score PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Warriors took the field earlier today trying to improve their conference record back to .500 (4-4). They sent Chaz Abeln to the mount looking to improve his record to 2-2. The Warriors jumped on the board early in the top of the 1st with a solo home run by Shane McIntyre. After the Warriors scored another run in the 3rd the Seahawks pushed one across in the bottom of the 3rd. The Seahawks leadoff hitter dropped a bunt back to the pitcher Chaz Abeln; Abeln threw the ball down the right field line which allowed the runner to get to 3rd base. The Seahawks then singled which would push across an unearned run. The Seahawks would push another unearned run across in the 6th on an error by Taylor Mathis. That's where the game slowed down and turned in to a pitching duel as the game would go all the way into the 13th inning. Where the Warriors would capitalize on a leadoff walk which would lead to a 2 out single by Derek Self scoring Kyle Russo. The Warriors would then send Jessie Wiggington out to the Mount looking for his 3rd save on the season as he would throw a 1,2,3 inning striking out 2.

Abeln had a great game on the mount tossing 11 inns, 2 R, 0 ER, 6 H, 12 SO, and 4 BB. The Warriors winning pitcher was Carlo Galluccio as he threw the 12 before turning it over to Wiggington for the save.

The Warriors offence struggled today as they struck out 15 times. The Highlights on the offensive side was Derek Self and Billy Farrell as they both picked up 3 hits each. Shane McIntyre and Hunter Ovens both had 2 hits as well.

The Warriors 3rd game of the series never even started as storms roared through West Palm Beach, FL. The game will be rescheduled for a later date.

The Warriors will take the field again Thursday night the 15th at 7pm at home as they take on Spring Arbor.
