BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University Women's Soccer Team bounced back today with a huge win vs conference opponent Thomas University today with a 1-0 final score.

The Lady Warriors came into the game with a “must win” mentality after losing Friday's game against Embry Riddle. WIU knew that they needed to get off to a fast start and that's what they got from their players. WIU took 8 shots at the goal in the first half compared to Thomas' 3 shots.

 Sophomore Ciera Abundez scored early in the second half to put the Lady Warriors up 1-0 and they never looked back afterwards. The game got physical towards the end with both teams fighting to score but when the final horn ended; the Lady Warriors came out victorious with yet another huge win. Alisha Keene, Alexis Garrand and Ciera Abundez led the Warriors with 3 shots at the goal each. Goalkeeper Makenzie Vance had I save.

Jenny Hernandez led the Night Hawks with 2 shots at the goal.

The Lady Warriors return to action again when they travel to Miami, Florida where they will take on St Thomas University, October 12 in another conference match.
