BABSON PARK, Fla. Webber International University women's soccer team send out their Seniors in style win a shutout victory over cross rival Warner University. The final score was 5-0.
In their last regular season match, the Lady Warriors perhaps saved their best game for last and they sure put on a performance for the spectators that were in attendance. The WIU allowed only I shot at goal while the Lady Warriors had 35 shots. Scoring for the Lady Warriors were senior forward
Ashley Palmer who scored twice,
Ciera Abundez,
Aubrie Strohmenger and
Jessica Morejon.
It was a day that highlighted the seniors on the team that have played an instrumental part of the team's success this year and recent years. The seniors that were recognized were
Ashley Palmer; a native of England, Alisha Keene; from Bradenton, Fla;
Amanda Solis, from Orlando, Fla. and
Suzannah Wyatt, also from Orlando, Fla.
Prior to the game, they players and coaches honored the seniors with a pre-game ceremony highlighting their accomplishments and memories with the team.
The conference tournament is set to begin next week and WIU will be hosting Polk County rival Southeastern University on November 1
st on the campus of WIU.
