BABSON PARK, Fla. – WIU Lady Warriors soccer team traveled to South Carolina and Georgia last weekend to face two conference opponents and managed to escape with a 1-1 record.
On Friday the Lady Warriors played University of South Carolina Beaufort and ran away with a 4-1 victory. The Lady Warriors scored 3 goals in the first half then another in the second half.
Ciera Abundez scored goals with
Alexis Garrand assisting on one of them.
Ashley Palmer and
Aubrie Strohmenger score the other 2 goals in the winning effort. Goal keeper Vance Makenzie had 3 saves in the win.
The Lady Warriors then travelled to play Savannah College of Arts and Design for their next conference match up. In a second half battle, SCAD was able too over power the Lady Warriors scoring 3 goals in the second half to WIU's 2 second half goals. Scoring for WIU was

Ashley Palmer.
Alexis Garrand assisted on one goal.
WIU will take the field again when they host Embry Riddle University this Friday at 3:00 p.m. on Warriors Field.
