Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. – Warriors lose a heartbreaker to the Eagles in the final second.
Warriors in the first half came out on fire with a purpose. It was a hard fought first half by both teams. Warriors were shooting 12-38 (31.6%) from the field, and Eagles shot 13-31 (41.9%) from the field.
Both teams had strong presence in the paint, and both teams had 16 points in the paint. Webber; however, took care of the ball well and stole the ball from Embry Riddle 5 times. Warriors had 3 turnovers to 9 by Eagles, and they turned Eagles turnovers to 8 points; whereas, Eagles had only 2 points off turnovers.
Johnson Mesidor led the Warriors at the half with 8 points, where he was 2-4 from beyond the arc; he also had one assist, and two rebounds. Blake Touchard led the Eagles at the half with 9 points and 6 rebounds.
The bench came out strong for Webber coming up with 12 points, to 6 points for Embry Riddle.
Jakeem Hill came off the bench and added a spark for the Warriors where he had 5 points and 4 steals. Webber went into the half with a 31-30.
Warriors came out slow at the start of the second half; whereas, ERAU was on fire in the first couple minutes of the half.
Troy Simmons came out from his injury in the second half to give a spark, and both teams battled it out to the end.

Jakeem Hill energized the crowd with 8 minutes to go in the game. With 4:10 to go,
Tyler Auerbacher made a 3 point field goal to give Webber a 53-51 lead. Warriors kept their lead until the final seconds with couple offensive rebound.
Eagles turned the ball over twice in 10 second span, and Warriors had a 59-58 advantage. It might have seemed like the game was over, but a turnover by WIU with 4 seconds to go gave some hope for the Eagles. Eagles threw the ball in for DeForest Carter where he made a bucket inside the paint, and he was fouled with 0.8 seconds to go. Following the and one shot, Warriors hoped for a miracle when they threw the ball up for the grabs hoping someone from Webber would make a shot, but their hopes were crushed when an ERAU player deflected the high pass and the time expired with a final score of 59-61 in advantage of the Eagles.
Gabriel Rutledge had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds; he also had 6 assists, a block, and a steal.
Jakeem Hill led the Warriors with 14 points, 7 rebounds, an assist, and 5 steals. Blake Touchard led the Eagles with his own double-double where he had 11 rebounds and 15 points.
Webber had 36 points in the paint, 13 points off turnovers, 11 second chance points, and the bench came out strong for Webber where they accumulated 30 points. Whereas, Embry Riddle had 26 points in the paint, 12 points off turnovers, 16 second chance points, 2 points off a fast break, and 16 points from the bench.
Webber International University falls to 6-7 and 0-4 in The Sun Conference. Embry Riddle Aeronautical University improves to 11-7 and 2-2 in The Sun Conference.
Warriors will be back in action on January 17, 2012 where they will travel to Florida Memorial University, and the tip-off will be at 7 pm. Webber's next home match will be on Thursday January 19, 2012 versus a conference foe, Ave Maria University (10-5; 1-2) in the Sabbagh Athletic Center at 7 pm.
