Babson Park, Fla. – The Lady Warriors hosted the Lady Eagles on August 22, 2011 on the Warriors Field where they came out on top with a score of 4-2.

Kayla Billings from the Lady Eagles scored the first goal of the game. She headed the goal from a corner kick by Marissa Golesh. But, the Lady Warriors kept fighting until they scored twenty-five minutes later. Magen Carey scored from the right side to tie the game and was assisted by Brittany Filho Moore.

Both goalies allowed one goal in the first half. Leighann Davis had two saves, while Ciarra Pederson had three saves. Webber International and Embry Riddle from Arizona, each had six shots.

The second half started off slow for the Lady Warriors as they allowed the Lady Eagles to score another goal. Sidney Jones #12 for Embry Riddle scored an unassisted goal giving the lead back to the Eagles. The Lady Warriors answered back two minutes later with a goal from Amanda Solis' unassisted goal. Solis' goal sparked the Lady Warriors in the second half which led to them scoring two more goals. The first goal came from Brittany Cox assisted by Natalie Leslie. The last goal that sealed the game for the Lady Warriors came from Magen Carey for her second goal of the game and was assisted by Taylor Larochelle.

“It was a pretty even game but we came out on top. I'm proud of the girls for playing hard second half. First win at home feels great!” stated Head Women's Soccer Coach Jami Hagy.

The Lady Warriors record starts off 1-0 while Embry Riddle AZ falls to 0-2.

The Lady Warriors will take the field at home against Thomas University (GA) on August 28, 2011 starting at 3:00 P.M.
