Warriors Sweep Doubleheader; Win Rivalry Series

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber baseball team won both games of their double dip against cross-town rival Warner University 5-1 and 1-0. 

The Warriors got a good pitching performance from Chaz Abeln who went the distance allowing just one run on six hits while striking out nine Royals on the day. Leading the way for Webber at the plate was Nick Pascente who had a hit and two runs batted in and Shane McIntyre who had a hit a run scored and a RBI. 

In the rubber match of the series Webber continued their dominate ways on the mound as Ryan O'Gara was not to be outdone by Abeln. O'Gara pitch a masterful complete game shutout allowing just three hits and struck out ten royals. The lone run was scored by Pascente who was driven in by Billy Ferrell. Taylor Mathis picked up two of Webbers seven hits. 

The Warriors move to 24-17 overall with a 10-8 mark in The Sun Conference. They will take the field again on Wednesday when they travel to Eckerd College. Game time is scheduled for 7 pm.
