MIAMI, Fla. – Some shaky defense and big innings cost the Warriors against conference foe St. Thomas University. The Bobcats defeated the Warriors 13-7.
The Warriors jumped out on top early scoring a run in the first and another in the second but the Bobcats then took the lead by pushing three across in the second. Webber answered right back in their half of the third scoring two more runs but gave the lead right back as St. Thomas tallied two of their own. Webber again touched the plate twice in the fifth inning but the Bobcats had their biggest inning of the night pushing six across. They added two more in the seventh. The Warriors ended the game with six errors.
Leading the Warriors at the plate was Hunter Ovens who had four hits including a screaming home run, four RBI's and two runs scored. Josh Longbrake, Shane McIntyre, and Tripp Merrell each had two hits.
The two teams will face-off again tomorrow in a double header with game one starting at noon.
