Babson Park, Fla. – Warrior baseball swept a double header from the Cougars of St. Xavier University. Game one was 6-2 and game two was 8-7.
The first game was highlighted by a three run homer from
Shane McIntyre in the fifth inning.
Hunter Ovens continued to swing a hot bat as he collected two more hits and scored two more runs.
Cody Whitlow and
Nate Goldstein each had two hits and Whitlow scored twice.
Ryan Gibbard threw a complete game only giving up two runs earning his first win of the season.
The Warriors fell behind in game two 6-1 but a seven run sixth inning help them to prevail. Leading the way at the plate for Webber was
Randy Hernandez who had two hits and drove in two runs. Ovens and McIntyre each had two more hits apiece.
Austin AuBuchon picked up the win after coming in as a relief pitcher and got the Warriors out of a tough jam.
Derek Self then came on and picked up the save.
With the wins the Warriors move to 9-10 overall. They will take on SUNY-Canton tomorrow in a double header with game one scheduled to start at 4 pm.
