BABSON PARK, FL. Feb 17, 2011 -- Perpetual Motion, a dance troupe from McLaughlin Middle School, will kick off a tour of the central Florida area with an exhibition during the halftime show at the Webber International University Warriors/Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Eagles game on Saturday Feb. 19th at the The Sabbagh Athletic Center in Babson Park.
PM's young dancers will demonstrate grace, poise, and pizzazz in precise dance routines that require a combination of strength, stamina, and flexibility that would leave most athletes gasping - yet they smile and dance on for the understated approval of the applause.
“The display of physical skill that Perpetual Motion will show during half-time is certain to inspire our students, fans and supporters. We are pleased to partner with them to bring an evening full of entertainment and competitive rivalry,” said
John Shoffner WIU Men's basketball coach.
The exhibition is part of a series of performances that PM is preparing to showcase in a variety of events such as the All County Dance Day, Saddlebags Lake Resort and a Spring Dance Concert on April 1st.
Perpetual Motion Dance will be the featured halftime entertainment at the Warrior's last home game of the season. The ERAU Eagles are currently ranked 5th in the Men's Basketball NAIA Division II coach's poll and 2nd in the Sun Conference. The Warriors stand to shake-up the basketball rankings in The Sun Conference as they are currently in 6th place and are legitimate contenders to challenge the Eagle's conference fate.
"This game could have major implications on the first round of the play-offs so it's going to be a highly emotional and intense game. We still have unfinished business with Embry-Riddle: it's our senior's last home game so they are definitely going to bring their A game," Shoffner added.
The game will be played at 7:00 pm on Saturday Feb 19th. Come watch the "Unfinished Business" finally settled between conference contenders Warriors/Eagles and be entertained by the Perpetual Motion Dance troupe of McLaughlin Middle School.
