Babson Park, Fla. - Webber International University's men's basketball team was victorious over Southeastern University in a Sun Conference matchup on Saturday night, 87-67.
The Warriors traveled to Lakeland in hopes of beating Southeastern in one of their last chances to improve their Sun Conference record. The Warriors came out strong in the first half as they outscored Southeastern, 38-28. In the second half the Warriors continued to fight hard and extended their lead over Southeastern to win the game by 20 points, 87-67.
Tyler Auerbacher led the Warriors on offense with 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist.
Junior Geidi posted 19 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals for the Warriors. The Warriors were also led by
Marvin Williams with 18 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist. On defense
Gabriel Rutledge led the Warriors by posting a double-double scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. The win tonight was a total team effort. The win improves the Warrior's record to 12-12 overall and 7-8 in The Sun Conference while Southeastern's record falls to 14-14 overall and 4-10 in The Sun Conference.
The Warriors return to action as they are hosted by Florida College on February 14th, tipoff is at 7 p.m.
