Warriors Overcome Ave Maria, 34-3

Naples, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors (1-5) came into the game against Ave Maria (0-5) with something to prove. The Warriors won the game decisively with a score of, 34-3.

Ave Maria put the first point on the board with a 30 yard field goal from R. Halter with 10:32 left in the first quarter. The rest of the first quarter was a defensive battle. The second quarter started out great for the Warriors as they responded with a touchdown run from Zack Day giving them a 7-3 led. The Warriors would score again with 3:55 left in the first half sending the teams into the locker-rooms with a score of, 14-3.

At the start of the second half both teams were playing well as neither team could score a touchdown in the third quarter. The only points allowed in the third quarter were a field goal from 39 yards out by Webber's Mason Prater, 17-3. The Warriors took control of the game in the fourth quarter as they posted 17 points against Ave Maria ending the game, 34-3. Jamal Rodman, Erik McQueen, and Mason Prater scored the 17 points throughout the 4th quarter for the Warriors.

 Leaders for the Warriors on offence were; Chris Hart with a passing record of 10 completions out of 18 attempts for a total of 145 yards and 2 touchdowns, Hart also rushed for 61 yards; Torrance Moise had an impressive day throwing the ball 7 times for 7 completions for 71 yards; Brayun Andrews was the receiver targeted the most with 6 completions for 46 yards and 1 touchdown.
Leaders on the defense were; Nate Keller with 4 solo tackles and 11 assisted tackles; Hunter Ovens also lead the defense with 5 solo tackles and 4 assisted tackles while also recovering a fumble.

The Warriors record improves to 2-5 while Ave Maria's record falls to 0-6.

The Warriors next game will be at home as they host Southern Virginia University. Kick-off is set for 3:00 pm gates will open at 2:00 pm and the ticket office will open at 1:45pm. Come support your Warriors as they finish up their last two game at Legion Field over the next two Saturdays.
