Women's Soccer Defeated Bethel University

Babson Park, Fla. - WIU women's soccer defeated Bethel University 4-1 on October 2, 2011.

Magen Carey scored first in the 36th minute, the goalie got lost and Magen Carey dribbled the ball around the goalie and placed the ball from Hillary Ziegler into the net. Jessica Morejon scored the second goal in the first half. Webber was fouled and Brittany Filho-Moore passed the ball from the left half of the field. Sam Keller had 5 saves and allowed no goals in the first half.

Melissia Madden scored first in the second half to narrow their deficite to 2-1, and Lori Magnesen assisted her goal. Nonetheless, Lady Warriors were not going to be stopped of getting their own goals. Brittany Cox score the first goal in the second in the left of the goalie box, Joy Rosano crossed the ball from the right side to assist Brittany Cox. Jessica Morejon scored her second goal, and the final goal for Webber, in the 89th minute, Hillary Ziegler passed the ball to her and she placed the ball over the goalies head into the net.

Lady Warriors had 14 total shots, 10 were on goal, and four were goals; whereas, Bethel had 19 shots, 12 were on goal, and only one went pass the goalkeeper.

Lady Warriors improve their overall record to 6-5, and their The Sun Conference record stays at 2-1; while, Bethel University (Tenn.) drops to 7-4.

Webber International University women's soccer will travel to Embry-Riddle on October 7, 2011 to play in a conference game and the game will start off at 6 pm.
