Lady Warriors Win the Senior Game

Box Score Babson Park, Fla. – Lady Warrior took on Lady Lions on October 16, 2011 for their senior game. Webber International (7-8; 3-4) defeated Florida Memorial (2-8-1; 2-5-1) with a score of 3-1 to give their seniors the pleasure of finishing the last home game on the Warriors' Field with a victory.

Florida Memorial came on the board first after Lourdine Delphonse score on a penalty kick at the 12th minute of the game. Lady Warriors were determined to take a victory from the Lady Lions to give to their seniors as a going away present. Senior Magen Carey passed the ball to Amanda Solis, who scored from the top of the box as she chipped the ball over the goalkeepers head into the net. The score was tied 1-1 in the first half.

Magen Carey, Taylor Larochelle, Joy Rosano, and Natalie Leslie were honored at the half for their dedication, loyalty, and hard work on and off the field.

Natalie Mederos passed the ball to Alisha Keene as she back headed the ball into the left corner of the net pass the goalkeeper in the 66th minute of the match, which gave the ladies first lead of the game versus their conference foe. Jessica Morejon finished the game with a goal 3 yards away from the net. The Warriors took two shots on goal and Ana Patrizzi from Florida Memorial blocked both of them, but Jessica Morejon ran in from the left side of the field to take the deflection from the goalkeeper and placed the ball in the net.

Webber International University outshot Florida Memorial 40 to 8, and WIU had 17 shots on target; whereas, FMU had only 4. Sam Keller (WIU) had only 3 saves and a victory, and Ana Patrizzi (FMU) had 17, but it wasn't enough to take the victory from the Warriors.

#7 Lourdine Delphonse from FMU played the entire game and had 2 shots, one being on goals and a goal. Jessica Morejon led the Lady Warriors with 5 shots, 4 on goal, scoring once.

Lady Warriors will be on the road for the next two matches. They will take on Johnson and Wales University on October 21, 2011 at 7:30 pm, and they will travel to Northwood University on October 23, 2011 and the match will start at 1 pm.
