Babson Park, Fla. - After a tough test against Southeastern on Friday evening, the Warriors were at battle again yesterday, this time against the Night Hawks of Thomas University.
While the Warriors started strong and had the majority of percentage for the first fifteen minutes of the game, there was a slight delay due to lightning.
Following the first delay, Thomas opened the scoring in the 18th minute, when Nathan Would carefully dribbled the ball around Warrior's goalkeeper Brandon Stout.
Although the tempo started to bounce back to the Warriors, another break in play was required, once again due to lightning.
The break was followed by the Night Hawk's second goal of the game, which saw Roward Liburd find the end of Niall McCourt's cross in the 33rd minute of play.
The game went from bad to worse for the Warrior's when
Julen Esteban gave away a penalty in the 76th minute. Alex Fleming managed to find the target from the spot, although Stout chose the right way and almost came up big.
Fleming then got his second of the game in the 82nd minute. McCourt was initially denied when Stout marched to the edge of his box and blocked a fantastic attempt, but Fleming was first to the ball and perfectly curled it into the back of the empty net.
Coach Cockburn said, “While it was a very disappointing result, I still have a good chunk of players that aren't fully fit. The players will be back in training before Warner on Wednesday, as our attention now turns to the Crooked Lake Cup. I urge everyone to come out and support their Warriors.”
