Babson Park, Fla. – The men's tennis team at Webber International fell to St. Thomas University, 6-2, in the semi-finals of The Sun Conference Tournament in Savannah, Georgia.
The Warriors complete their season with a 15-7 record.
Winning doubles for Webber was the #1 team of Seniors Philippe Andermatt and Caio Cardoso, 8-3. The lone singles winner was Cardoso at #4, 6-4, 6-2. The #5 player, freshman Tyler Heath, was leading 6-3, 4-3 when his matched was stopped after the team match was decided.
“We did not lose for lack of effort,” stated Coach Bill Heath. “St. Thomas has beaten us by similar scores both times we played this year, so evidently they are the better team,” added Heath.
The Warriors will lose two seniors off this year's this years' team, Philippe Andermatt and Caio Cardoso. According to Heath, all other players will be back.
