LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Webber baseball team lost both games against Warner University Saturday 4-1 and 7-5. The Royals bounced back after a late inning loss Friday to win the series.
Game one saw the Royals score four times in the first inning and that was all they needed as they defeated the Warriors 4-1. After the first inning, Chris Kirk took the mound and shut down the Royals offense for the rest of the game but Webber could not get anything going, only scoring a single run in the sixth inning. Ryan Regidor collected two hits in the contest and Vince Ratto scored the only run.
Game two was a sloppy played match where again the Warriors out hit the Royals but could not come up with the big hits to knock in the runs. Warner had six errors in the game but Webber could not take advantage of the opportunities as Warner took the game 7-5. Leading the way at the plate for Webber was Ryan Jamison, Regidor, Manny Ramirez, and Brett Book who all had two hits and scored a run.
Webber runs their record to 8-16 in the conference and 22-28 overall. The Warriors will take the field again this Tuesday as they travel to St. Petersburg to take the Tritons of Eckerd College. Game time is scheduled for 7 pm.
