Warriors Go Winless in Miami

MIAMI, Fla. – In a weekend where the Warriors baseball team needed to win another conference series, the Bobcats of St. Thomas made the road for the Warriors much tougher as they swept the series.
Game one was a nail biter as the Warriors took an early lead only to see the Bobcats come back and tie the game. Webber then seemed to overcome the comeback with a long homerun by Shawn Mayhew in the top of the ninth inning but, St. Thomas rallied again to win the game 8-7 with two runs in their half of the ninth.
Game two was another close game that was edged out by the Bobcats 3-1. A Pitcher's duel that saw the Warriors starter Ryan Gibbard go the distance allowing three runs on seven hits. The Bobcats starter tossed five strong innings before handing over to the bullpen.
Game three was yet another close game early but a five run seventh inning by the Bobcats propelled them to a series sweep of the Warriors.
The offensive star for the Warriors in the series was Nate Goldstein who hit .400 in the series and Ryan Jamison who collected four hit in the three games.
Webber will take the field again Monday April 12 as they played a postponed game against Southeastern University. Game time is seven o'clock and it is schedules to be a seven inning game.
