Warriors Tennis Loses to Embry-Riddle

Babson Park, Fla. – The Webber International Warriors tennis team took it on the chin, with an 8-1 loss to #4 ranked Embry-Riddle on Wednesday afternoon in a match played on the WIU Campus Courts in Babson Park.
The Warriors fell behind 3-0 after doubles and did not recover in the singles.
Winning the lone point was the#3 player, Juuso Tapaneinen, a sophomore from Finland. He defeated Pete Francis, the #24 ranked player in the NAIA, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
“This was a huge win for Jusso and he darned well earned it,” stated Coach Bill Heath.
“Juuso is a fighter and I know he will always give 100% to win his match, regardless of how the rest of the team is doing,” added Heath. The Warriors are now 13-5 for the season.
