BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber baseball team took on the Warriors of Indiana Tech last night in a doubleheader and ended their recent skid taking two close games 5-4 in eleven innings and 7-6.
Game one was won by the hometown Warriors as they played in their eighth extra inning game of the year. In a back and forth battle, Webber prevailed on an errant throw by the visiting Warriors catcher. Leading the way for Webber t the dish was Carlo Galluccio who picked up three hits, drove in a run, and scored a run. Nate Goldstein and Ryan Jamison each collected two hits while Ryan Regidor drove in two big runs in a pinch hit appearance. Picking up the win for Webber was Omar DeJesus who tossed an inning and a third only allowing one hit. That is DeJesus' first collegiate victory on the mound.
Game two saw the Warriors fall behind again as Indiana Tech scored four runs in the third inning off starting pitcher Mark McLeod. Webber had to rally late scoring three runs in the sixth and picking up two more to win the game in the bottom of the seventh inning which was capped off by a bases loaded game winning single by Randy Hernandez. Hernandez ended the game with two hits. Ryan Jamison had another big game as he was a perfect three-for-three. Billy Ferrell, Carlo Galluccio, and Shawn Mayhew each tallied two hits while Farrell drove in two.
Webber improves their record to 16-14 and will continue their conference play this weekend as they travel to Savannah to take on SCAD. You can watch your Warriors in Georgia by logging onto
