Lake Wales, Fla. - The Warriors were determined to bounce back to form after a 3-1 defeat to Northwood on Friday. The Wildcats of Johnson & Wales University had made the long trip up from Miami and were determined to prove themselves.

Johnson & Wales piled on the pressure throughout the first thirty minutes of the game, but couldn't find a way past Warrior's goalkeeper Brandon Stout.

It was in the 33rd minute when Miguel Otero found Javier de La Cruz with a ball from the halfway line. Despite being under a great deal of pressure, de La Cruz weaved around two Wildcat defenders before laying the ball off to Andres Acosta, who calmly tucked it in the back of the net.

Webber found their confidence after taking the lead, with their second goal coming from an indirect free kick just two minutes after their first. The free kick was awarded when Wildcat's goalkeeper Angel Carrillo held onto the ball for over six seconds. Otero laid the ball off for Patrick Fleming, who fired it through the wall and into the bottom left-hand corner of the goal, leading the Warriors into halftime with a 2-0 advantage.

Just nineteen seconds into the second half the Warriors found their third. Alan Percival crossed the ball into the danger zone from the left flank, which fell at the feet of Acosta, whose initial shot was saved by Carrillo. Estevan Lamas was free at the far post, picking up the pieces in the process.

Webber's fourth was a perfect example of how soccer should be played. Fleming found Craig Peacock who cleverly picked out Lamas in the centre of midfield. After driving into open space, Lamas found Alan Percival on one of his daunting overlap runs. The unmarked Percival closed in on goal before launching a left-footed rocket past Carrillo, claiming his first goal for the Warriors.

Percival wasn't the only player to claim his first goal for the Warriors, as it was nine minutes later when Esgar Montelongo struck in outstanding fashion. Ade Ellis found Montelongo free on the left-hand side of the field, who perfectly curled the ball into the top right-hand corner of the goal.

The sixth and final goal was similar to that of Montelongo's. Otero found Acosta free on the left, whose shot sailed over Carrillo in the center of the goal.

Johnson & Wales had a perfect opportunity to get something from the game when Brandon Stout gave away a penalty in the 88th minute. Chris Reyes was the man to step up; however he struck the ball over the crossbar and the game finished 6-0.

Coach Cockburn said, “I am extremely proud of my boys, but we cannot afford to get complacent. Thursday will be another tough test away to Rollins, but I assure you we're not going down without a battle, after all, we are Warriors!”
