Lady Warriors Defeat Clearwater Christian in Home Opener

Babson Park, Fla. – Webber International Lady Warriors defeated Clearwater Christian College in their home opener, Tuesday, November 17th, 94-54.
 
Now 1-0 in the Sabbagh Athletic Center, the Lady Warriors improve their overall record to 1-2 on the season.
 
Leading the team in with 18 points was Heather Mirabella. Also contributing to the Warrior win with 11 points were, Chelsea Shipman, Nikki King (with 8 rebounds), and Ashley Butler (with 6 rebounds and 5 steals).
 
Setting the tone in the first half, Shipman opened the game with a three pointer that created the Warriors first lead of the night. From that moment on the Warriors maintained a constant lead over the Lady Cougars. With less than two seconds left in the first half, Mirabella, attempted a good three pointers, and Webber took a 31 point lead coming into the second half, 58-27.
 
Continuing their lead throughout the game, the Lady Warriors took their first home win from the Lady Cougars, 94-54. Playing their next game in West Palm Beach, WIU will be taking on the Lady Sailfish of Palm Beach Atlantic with a 6p.m. tip-off.
 
The Lady Warriors will play their next home game, December 4th, versus Southeastern University, in their first Sun Conference game of the year, at 6 p.m. in the Sabbagh Athletic Center.
