LAKE WALES, FL.- With two late goals made right when they needed to, the Lady Warrior soccer team defeated conference rival Warner University 2-1 Friday (Oct. 16) night at Warner University.
Warner struck first, as Tara Fadenricht scored in the first half at the 31 minute mark to make the score 1-0.Webber International wouldn't strike back till the end of the second half, as WIU's Tatem Tietgen scored at the 75th minute.
With 15 minutes left of the game left, WIU kept putting pressure on the Royals. With Alisabeth Berry opened by the net, Taylor Larochelle passed the ball over to her, giving Berry a clear shot for the goal and giving the Warriors a 2-1 lead at the 85th minute mark.
The Lady Warriors are on a role, winning four conference games in a row. Their overall record is now 8-4-1 and 5-2 in The Sun Conference. They are currently sitting third in the conference, and have two conference games left, against St. Thomas and Florida Memorial. Their next match will be on October 23 at 4:00 pm, as they take on St. Thomas on Warrior Field.
