Warriors Took First Win Against the Tigers, 45-24

Babson Park, Fla. – Webber International University's football team took their first win of the season last night (Saturday, October 10th), 45-24, versus the Tigers, of Edward Waters College at Legions Field.
 
Andre Edwards led the Warriors with 5 receptions for 75 yards, Jamal Rodman with 3 receptions and 42 yards and Mario Alexander also with 3 receptions for 25 yards. Taylor Atwood rushed 17 times for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns and Rupert Webley followed rushing 7 times for 82 yards.
 
Warriors quarterback, Torrance Moise was 18 of 31 for 184 yards, and 2 touchdowns and one interception on the day. Adam Riley went 1 of 1 for 10 yard touchdown pass to Ryan Adams.
 
Yannick Brown led the defense with 6 tackles, Anthony Story with 5 and Steven Willis added 4 tackles during the game. Jake Cavey and Tashawn Williams also added to the Warriors defense both with interceptions on the night.
 
Webber's defense held the Tigers to a scoreless first quarter as the Warriors, were the first to put points on the board with a 29 yard field goal, by freshman kicker, Mason Pratter. Before the quarter ended the Warriors rushed a 36 yard run by Atwood, for a 10-0 lead over the Tigers at the end of the first quarter.
 
Coming into the second quarter the Tigers put their first seven on the board with a pass from quarterback, Bradon Turman, to Jonathan Johnson for a Tigers 80 yard touchdown. Answering back the with a 20 yard pass from Moise, to receiver Kenzer Obando, the Warriors put yet another touchdown on the board, 17-7.
 
With the ball in the Tigers possessions and two plays into the drive, Warrior, Jake Cavey intercepted the ball for a 20 yard run to the Tigers 10 yard line, followed by a touchdown pass from Moise to senior Ryan Adams, for and other Warrior touchdown. Warriors take a bigger lead 24-7 over the Tigers.
 
Before the closing of the half the Tigers did manage to add three more points on the board from a 36 yard field goal attempt to close the first half, 24-10 in the Warriors favor.
 
With a scoreless third quarter for both teams, the fourth quarter left an unlimited amount of opportunities the teams.
 
As both teams battle back and forth with touchdowns in the fourth quarter, the Warriors manage to hold their lead over the Tigers.
 
Touchdowns in the fourth quarter by the Warriors were,Iziah Wyche from a 22 yard run, and a 28 yard complete pass from Moise, to Andre Edwards.
 
The Tigers did put an early touchdown on the board in the fourth quarter, but it was the Warriors that would walk away with the win, 45-24.
 
The team will be off this coming week (October 17th) but will resume play on the 24th of October, in Dover Delaware, when they will take on Wolverines of Wesley College, for a 1p.m. kick-off.
