Warriors Fall to Seahawks In Championship Game

BABSON PARK, Fla. - Webber International University Lady Warriors take second place in the Florida Sun Conference/Regional Tournament to Northwood University, falling by a final score of 76-61, on Saturday (Feb 23rd).  The Warriors end their season 15-11 overall, 10-5 and second in the Florida Sun Conference.

The Seahawks opened the first four minutes of the game with three consecutive three pointers, taking an early nine point lead before the Warriors scored their first points.  After the slow start the Warriors found some momentum and began putting more points on the board but it was the Seahawks' three point field goal percentage that had the Warriors trailing by twenty points (26-6) with 11:24 remaining in the first half.  The Warriors fought back, cutting the Seahawks' lead to eleven (45-34) as they closed the first half.
 
Entering the second half the Warriors came out shooting four for six from the field, cutting the lead down to six    (47-41).  Nonetheless, the Seahawks regained a twelve point lead at the free throw line making the score 60-48, with seven minutes left in the game.  The Warriors never gave up giving their all and trying to make something happen with only minutes left in the half, but the Seahawks persevered, holding their lead and taking the win 76-61.
 
Leading the Warriors were #Ashley Gabbert# with eleven points, while #Adrienne Iannone#, and #Ciarra Carter# contributed ten points apiece.
