WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Florida Sun Conference regular-season runner-up Webber International, which finished one game behind four-time champion Savannah College of Art and Design, led the All-FSC postseason awards capturing the FSC Player and Region XIV Player of the Year Cindy Eurie and FSC Coach of the Year Tim Edfors. This pair along with the other All-FSC and Region XIV winners was honored at the Region XIV tournament banquet hosted by Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Eurie, a 5-7 junior outside hitter from Haverstraw, New York, recorded 391 kills, hit .292, 36 service aces and 256 digs. Along with recruiting Eurie to WIU, Edfors helped guide the Warriors to their first NAIA national ranking this season with a 12-2 mark in the FSC and 28-5 overall.

On Saturday the Lady Warriors faced Embry-Riddle University after the Eagles won the quarter-final match against Warner Southern. The Warriors started the match a little shaky after having two weeks off and receiving a bye in the Regional Tournament rewarding their second place finish in the conference. Embry-Riddle took the first game 26-30 which motivated the Lady Warriors to step up their style of play for the next three games in the match.

The next three games were owned by the Lady Warriors. Game two was another struggle for the second ranked Lady Warriors who began the game down 11-3 but after a tough battle at the net, the Warriors pulled out the victory with a score of 31-29. Game three started with a 7-1 lead by the Warriors who then later led the game 24-13 but the Eagles fought back to within two points for a final score of 30-28. In the fourth and final game, Alicia Mohler turned the momentum of the match with a forceful block on Embry-Riddle's outside hitter Jenni Nelsen. With some aggressive serving and incredible defense from Tammy Zimmerman and Trisha Belcher the Lady Warriors finalized the 3-1 game victory over the Eagles with a score of 30-25 in the forth game. This is the second year in a row that Webber knocked Embry-Riddle out of the Region XIV Tournament in the semi-final round.

Cindy Eurie proved she deserved Region XIV Player of the Year honors by leading the team with 20 kills and 25 digs. Her unrelenting style of play rubbed off on her teammate Alicia Mohler who added to the victory with 13 kills of her own. Danelle Wagner increased her career assists with 63 assists in this semi-final match of the Region XIV Tournament. Wagner was also given All Conference/All Region team honors on Friday at the FSC Tournament banquet.  Allison Heitt charted eight blocks in the match and is poised to lead the Lady Warriors into tomorrow's finals against four time defending champion Savannah College of Art & Design. The finals will commence at noon in the Countess de Hoernele Student Life Center on the campus of Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Florida.
