William Hess enters his first season as an Assistant Softball Coach for the Webber International University softball team. Coach Hess is a native of Mobile, Alabama. From 2015-2019, he attended Southeastern Louisiana University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences and worked as the school’s team manager for the Lions' softball program. Upon graduation in 2019, he received an opportunity to coach in the ASBA (American Softball Association), a newly formed professional softball league out of his hometown in Mobile, Alabama. Coach Hess’s Moh-BEEL USA team finished the summer with a 24-8 record; winning both the 2019 regular season and tournament championship and having 10 of their 14 total athletes receiving postseason accolades. In the Fall of 2019, Coach Hess moved to Dyersburg State Community College and spent two seasons working as the Assistant Coach. There he was in charge of the pitchers and outfielders and helped produce one first place tie finish in a shortened 2019 season and three First-Team All-TCCAA members in 2020. Coach Hess comes to Webber with valuable experience and a strong passion and love for the game of softball.
