Phillip Maestas Bohn

Phillip Maestas Bohn joins the Warriors after spending the last six years as the Head Men's Soccer Coach at fellow NAIA member, LSU-Shreveport. Accumulating a winning record in each of his six seasons, Bohn compiled an overall record of 76-34-8 and a conference record of 42-12-4. The 2022 season stands as the best season in LSUS history as the Pilots finished 14-4-3 overall, 9-0-2 in conference, winning both the RRAC regular season and conference tournament, in route to the NAIA national tournament. Bohn was named the RRAC Coach of the Year as well as United Soccer Coaches West Region Staff of the Year. In 2022, the Pilots also captured the RRAC regular season trophy, advancing to the national tournament as well, with an overall record of 15-5. Prior to Shreveport, Bohn made four previous stops as a head coach. He spent four seasons in Salina, Kansas, at Kansas Wesleyan University where he compiled an overall record of 37-18-5 and was an impressive 23-4-3 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, advancing to the national tournament in 2014. Before that, he spent one season at Central Baptist College in Arkansas and four seasons at Jamestown College in North Dakota, compiling 37 wins. His best season at Jamestown, was in 2012, when the Jimmies advanced to the final 16 of the national tournament with an overall record of 16-5-1, finishing ranked number 16 in the coaches poll.

As a head coach, Bohn has led three different programs to into the NAIA coaches’ poll and national tournament. During each stop Bohn’s teams have not only excelled on the field, but also in the classroom, boasting improved team GPA’s.

Bohn currently serves on the NAIA national selection committee and is a former president of the NAIA executive committee.

Bohn earned a USSF National 'B' Coaching License and has NSCAA advanced regional coaching diplomas. The St. Paul, Minnesota native holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications with emphasis in Public Relations and Advertising from St. Cloud State University and is working on completion of his Master of Sport Science degree from the United States Sports Academy.
