Coach Bryan Garcia is from Tampa, Florida. He is studying to earn his MBA in sport business management.
As a high school runner, Garcia attended Thomas Richard Robinson High School in Tampa, Florida. He then attended Florida College where he graduated in May of 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business with a double major in sport management and business administration.
Garcia started his coaching career as a Volunteer Distance Coach at Henry B. Plant High School in Tampa in May of 2011. In 2013, he ws promoted to Head Boys' Cross County / Assistant Track & Field Coach.
During his three-year stint at Plant High School, Garcia's cross country teams won two Hillsborough County Championships and two district championships. He also coached three All-Hillsborough County 4x800 meter relay teams, two Hillsborough County Championship relay teams, two all-district 4x800 meter relay teams, one district championship team, one runner-up all-region 4x800 meter relay team, and an eighth place All-State 4x800 meter relay team.
Also during Garcia's tenure, Plant High School had two individual Hillsborough County Champions between cross country an track, and had 14 all-conference performances, 10 individual team district champions, 35 individual all-district athletes, three individual region champions, 16 all-region athletes, two individual State Champions and 16 All-State Athletes.
In 2015, Plant High School boasted the second-ranked nationally 1600 meter runner, the ninth-ranked nationally 3200 meter runner, the fourth-ranked nationally distance medley relay runner, and the 11th-ranked nationally 4x1600 meter relay team.
Last but not least, the teams Garcia worked with broke seven school records including the 800 meter race, 1600 meter race, 3200 meter race, 5k in cross country, 4x800 meter relay race, 4x1600 meter relay race, and the distance medley relay race.
