Zaronn Cann

Zaronn Cann has joined the Webber International University men's basketball coaching staff in July 2020.

Cann coached at Florida College (Temple Terrace, Fla.) during the 2019-20 season as the Head Developmental Team Coach and Assistant Varsity Men’s Basketball Coach.

Cann played professional basketball on the international level in South America, playing in the First Division in Chile for Club Deportes Castro from 2011 through 2013. As a pro, Cann was Import Player of the Year in 2011-12 for Club Deportes Castro. He was also named Finals Most Outstanding Player and was an LNB National Champion. In 2013, he was a First-Team All-League selection.

As a collegiate basketball player, Cann first played at the University of South Florida (Tampa, Fla.) from 2005 to 2007 before attending Eckerd College (St. Petersburg, Fla.) from 2007 through 2010. At Eckerd, Cann finished fourth all-time in program history in single-season field goal percentage (63 percent; 2009-10) and in career field goal percentage (57.2 percent), was a member of an NCAA Tournament team, and in 2010 he was named as a Second-Team All-Sunshine State Conference player.

At Brandon High School (Brandon, Fla.), Cann was a four-year letter winner and starter, was a finalist for McDonalds All-American as a senior in 2005 (averaging 16 points and nine rebounds per game), was a Nike All-American selection, and was a 1,000-point scorer. Selected as the program’s Most Valuable Player each of his four years and a team captain for his final three campaigns, Cann is Brandon’s all-time wins’ leader, and his team at one point held the longest winning streak in the history of Hillsborough County, going undefeated for three years against county opponents. He was ranked among the top-10 players in the state of Florida and among the top-50 players in the nation during his high school career. Cann also earned a pair of letters in track and one in football throughout his time in high school.

Cann graduated from Eckerd in 2010 with his Bachelor of Arts degree in communications with a minor in business management. Cann and his wife Jessica have four children: Zachary Izryel, Levi Ziel, Jaelyn Thurman, and Jordyn-Je'Ree Mignonette.
