Ben Claussen is a graduate assistant coach who joined the Webber International University men’s basketball program in 2019. As a graduate assistant coach, he assists with several duties with the Webber varsity team while he is also the head coach of one of the junior varsity teams. He enjoys working with young players, helping them to succeed on the basketball court and in their lives.
Prior to coming to Webber International University, Ben served as a manager for the NCAA Division-I Ohio University men’s basketball team from 2014-2019, including serving as the Head Senior Manager for the 2018-2019 season. He also served as an Ohio University Men’s Basketball Summer Camp counselor.
Ben played basketball at Athens High School in The Plains, Ohio, including serving as a co-captain during his senior year. The Bulldogs won the conference during his junior and senior seasons and captured the district championship during in the 2012-2013 season.
Ben also has worked for the ProShot Shooting System, which holds skills camps and clinics around the country.
Ben earned his Bachelor’s Degree in coaching education from Ohio University and is pursuing his MBA in International Business at Webber International University. Originally from Athens, Ohio, Ben, has a cat, Bubbles, and is an active member of the Athens Jogging Club in the summer months.
