The Webber bowling teams train at the world famous Kegel Training Center in Lake Wales, Florida. It is one of the premier facilities for bowling training in the world. The team has access to practice using SPECTO and MOTION PRO video analysis in addition to the expertise of the staff of the KTC.

History
Kegel was formed in 1981. At that time, Kegel had one product, a small hand operated cleaning tool named “The Key”, which they manufactured in a garage.

Over the past three decades Kegel has grown into a world-class organization with several product divisions, over 120 employees, and a specially designed 72,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility located in Lake Wales.

Kegel has done this with a simple philosophy of researching the problems that exist in the bowling industry, developing a product or service to solve that problem, and making sure to support the customer with the highest of standards.

About The Kegel Training Center
The Kegel Training Center, first known by the name HERBIES was opened in 1997 in Sebring, Florida. This private ten lane facility was the first of its kind. In 2004, the Kegel Training Center was moved to its current location in Lake Wales, Florida, and now features twelve fully adjustable lanes. The KTC coaches players from all over the world and serves as the Training Facility for the Webber International University bowling teams.

Some of the features for players include:

  • A 10-minute drive from Webber International.
  • The location where our coaches are master instructors and teaching professionals.
  • The Training Center has coached more than 10,000 bowlers, 500 professionals and 50 national teams. They are the world leaders in bowling education.
  • Lane condition database allowing the team to train on any pattern used in past competitions. This will allow the team to become comfortable playing any angle or line.
  • SPECTO is a single sensor system that measures the locations, speeds and  angles of the balls path from foul line to end of pin deck and much, much more.
  • MOTION PRO has a three camera video system. It records front, back and side views of every shot recorded and can be used to compare the student with videos of the best bowlers in the world side by side on the video screen. Slow motion, frame to frame play back as well as drawing tools are used to illustrate lines and angles of the student.
  • Literally, the training center has the flattest lanes in the world. It has two miles of chains under the lanes, which allows for the adjustment of topography.
  • The training facility has a locker room for the WIU bowlers.

Some of the features for fans include:

  • 12 lanes for training or games
  • Seating
  • Concessions
