CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Webber International University football team hit the road Saturday afternoon, traveling to Kentucky to take on No. 14 Campbellsville University. The Warriors battled throughout the afternoon but ultimately fell to the Tigers, 37-0.
Campbellsville jumped out to a 13-0 lead after the opening quarter, scoring twice in the first quarter. The Tigers added another touchdown in the second quarter to take a 21-0 advantage into halftime.
The Warriors' defense continued to compete in the second half, but Campbellsville added a field goal and two touchdowns to extend its lead and secure the 37-0 victory.
Webber finished the afternoon with 210 yards of total offense, including 137 passing yards and 73 rushing yards. The Warriors recorded 13 first downs while holding the Tigers to 489 total yards.
Quarterback Trent Grotjan completed 10-of-16 passes for 95 yards, while also leading the Warriors in total offensive production with 94 yards. Noel Rodriquez Santigo completed 8-of-14 passes for 42 yards.
On the ground, D'Markus Mathis led Webber with 50 rushing yards on 10 carries. Dantay Diorio added 29 yards on six attempts.
Through the air, Quinton Moore led the Warriors with six receptions for 47 yards. Makai Elder added five catches for 43 yards, while Terrell Holt finished with four receptions for 36 yards.
Defensively, Matthew Smiciklas led Webber with seven total tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss. Careal Carter, Marquez Griffin and Javier Frazier each recorded six tackles. Carter also forced a fumble and recovered it, while Tyler Powell recorded an interception.
Campbellsville quarterback Justyce Law completed 25-of-33 passes for 357 yards and two touchdowns, while the Tigers totaled 374 passing yards and 115 rushing yards on the afternoon.

The Warriors return home next Saturday, September 19, when they welcome RV Bethel University to Warrior Field. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
