Warriors Swept by Seahawks

West Palm Beach, FL – The Webber International Softball team took on the Keiser Seahawks in a SUN Conference doubleheader Wednesday afternoon. The Warriors fell in both games, 9-0 in the first and 8-0 in the second. Webber was limited to three total hits across the two games, with Abigayle Ellison accounting for the Warriors' lone hit in Game 1 and Dominica Kohout and Sami Franz each collecting singles in Game 2.

In the opener, Keiser broke the game open immediately with a six-run first inning. Trinity Rohrer delivered an RBI single, Sarah Phipps followed with a bunt single that brought home another run, Ava Stahl added a two-run single, and Lanie Macicek capped the frame with an RBI groundout. Keiser added more damage in the second, including Rohrer's two-run single, on the way to the 9-0 final. Webber's best offensive moment came from Ellison, who recorded the Warriors' only hit of the game, while Samantha Hudson also threw out a would-be base stealer behind the plate.

Game 2 stayed scoreless through four innings as Taylor Thomas kept Webber within striking distance and the Warriors picked up hits from Kohout and Franz. Kohout also swiped a base, but Webber could not string together the timely hit it needed.

Keiser broke through in the fifth and ended the game with an eight-run inning. Genesis Iglesias opened the scoring with an RBI single, Rohrer followed with another run-scoring hit, and Phipps delivered the decisive blow with a three-run homer to center as part of the late outburst. Thomas finished with 4.1 innings in the circle for Webber, striking out four.
