Lakeland, FL – The Webber International Men's Basketball team saw its SUN Conference Tournament run come to an end Tuesday night, falling to No. 3 seed Southeastern, 96-52, in the quarterfinals at The Furnace.
The Fire opened the game with an early surge and never looked back, building a 45-17 halftime cushion behind efficient shooting and constant pressure. Southeastern controlled the paint throughout the first half, turning defensive stops into quick offense while holding Webber to 17 points over the opening 20 minutes.
Webber showed more rhythm offensively after the break, scoring 35 points in the second half, but Southeastern continued to pile on with balanced scoring and steady ball movement. The Fire finished the night at 54.4% from the field (37-of-68) and knocked down 11 three-pointers, while also winning the rebounding battle 50-26 and outscoring the Warriors 52-12 in the paint.
