Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Men's Volleyball team dropped a pair of home matches on Thursday, falling 3-1 to Jamestown before being swept 3-0 by Barry in men's volleyball action in Babson Park.
In the opener, the Warriors battled but came up short against Jamestown, 3-1 (23-25, 15-25, 25-22, 19-25). Webber hit .148 as a team with 46 kills, led by Janis Dobelis and Gavin Patterson with 11 kills apiece. The Warriors' best stretch came in the third set, where Webber flipped the momentum and earned a 25-22 win to extend the match. Mateus Haubrich paced the offense with 21 assists, while Dobelis added a team-high seven digs and Webber finished with four service aces and 3.0 total blocks.
Later in the day, Webber ran into a sharp Barry squad as the Buccaneers earned a 3-0 decision (14-25, 21-25, 19-25). Patterson again led the Warriors with 11 kills, and Talan Stephens dished out 17 assists as Webber posted 32 kills in the match. Defensively, Patterson also finished with seven digs, while Webber recorded two aces and 1.0 total blocks.
