Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Men's Lacrosse came up just short in a thriller on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, falling 14–13 in double overtime to Taylor in Babson Park, Fla. The Warriors built a sizeable early cushion and had the game in their hands late, but the Trojans forced extras and finally ended it with the lone goal of the second overtime.
Webber struck first and controlled the opening quarter, taking a 4–2 lead after 15 minutes. The Warriors kept the pressure on in the second, pushing the advantage to its largest at 8–3 with 1:38 left in the half before Taylor clipped it to 8–4 heading into the break. Taylor then opened the third quarter with two quick goals to make it a two-score game, but Webber steadied and carried a 10–8 edge into the fourth.
The final period turned into a back-and-forth sprint. Taylor pulled within one at 14:47, Webber answered twice to go back up two, and the teams traded punches the rest of the way. Webber led 13–11 after Jeremiah Loo scored at 5:52, but Taylor countered with goals at 2:15 and 0:43 to force overtime at 13–13. After a scoreless first extra session, Jackson Dale netted the winner at 1:43 of the second overtime to seal it.
Offensively, Webber was led by Loo (5 goals, 1 assist) and Nick Sheaffer (4 goals), while Isaiah Espaillat added 2 goals and an assist. Sam Shields fueled the attack with three assists, and Webber also got key contributions from Branden Sheaffer (2 assists), plus goals from Ethan Baker and Cameron Paleski. In goal, Liam Murphy posted 8 saves in 55:31, and Colton Renkiewicz added 1 save in relief.
Webber finished with 39 shots to Taylor's 41 and held a 26–23 edge in shots on goal, along with advantages in ground balls (30–26) and faceoffs (16–15). Alan Basic (12–10) and Israel Miranda (4–5) paced the Warriors at the X, with both collecting eight ground balls. Defensively, Webber caused 14 turnovers (highlighted by Paleski's five caused turnovers and Jack Polomsky's four), but special teams swung the other way—Webber went 0-for-6 on man-up chances while Taylor finished 1-for-3.
