Warriors Pull Away in 4th Quarter for Victory over Mighty Banyans

Bradenton, FL – Behind a dominant fourth quarter, the Webber International Women's Basketball team pulled away late to earn a 69-53 Sun Conference road win over New College of Florida on Wednesday at SCF-Bradenton.

After a defensive opening period, Webber held a 10-9 edge after one and the teams went to halftime deadlocked at 25-25. New College found a rhythm in the third and stretched its advantage to nine (39-30) midway through the frame, but the Warriors answered with a strong close to erase the deficit and tie the game at 42-42 heading into the final 10 minutes.

Webber seized complete control in the fourth, outscoring the hosts 27-11 to turn a tight contest into a comfortable finish. A 15-3 swing spanning the final minutes of the third and early part of the fourth flipped the momentum, and the Warriors' pressure defense fueled the separation—forcing 19 turnovers and converting those miscues into 21 points.

Jaiden Ross powered Webber with a game-high 24 points on 11-of-16 shooting, adding seven rebounds. Camryn Patterson stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, nine rebounds, five assists, five steals, and six blocks as Webber finished with seven rejections as a team. Isabel Negron chipped in nine points, while Neri Moreau and Sophya Barreiro added seven apiece.

For New College, Halle Shelt led the way with 15 points, while Tatiana Jackson posted 11 points and 10 rebounds. Gwen Tsoukalas also scored 11. Webber finished the night shooting 43.1% from the field (25-for-58) and 50.0% from three (5-for-10), while holding New College to 33.3% shooting (17-for-51).
